I haven’t been this excited about a new artist since I mentored trumpeter Theo Croker.  Skyler is a 16 year old sax player who is destined to re-write jazz history.  Winner of the 2015 Jacksonville Jazz Youth Competition, he plays it all. Jazz, rock, soul and more.  Whether he’s playing tenor, alto, soprano or bari, Skyler hears music in a unique way.  Serving as a judge for the Jacksonville Jazz Youth Competition, he immediately grabbed my attention.  It’s not what he plays it’s HOW he plays it. You can literally see the music moving through his body.  I was spellbound.  Through the years I have produced Branford Marsalis, Ravi Coltrane, Gerald Albright, Michael Brecker, Grover Washington Jr. and Najee.  I know a great sax player when I hear one.   NY producer Travis Milner and I are working together on Skyler’s EP.  We can’t wait to get his music on the air and in your hearts.
